Let's burst the baloon!On Saturday, we have organized a MOON cake party in our kindergarten. Parents and child proudly bring along the recycle lantern they made. That night, we are supposed to walk with the lantern around our Taman. However, it drizzled and we have to cancel the walking and play games instead. The highlight of the night was of course the prize giving ceremony for the best three lanterns.
Some parents did not participate as they informed me that they do not how to make. To us, the objective of this activity is to provide an opportunity for whole family to sit down together and discuss on what to do. It is the process that counts. Children will learn when they involve in the process of discussion, and bonding will develop when whole family did this activity together.
To my surprise, parents were really creative and they can make very creative recycle lantern. It gives us a tough time to choose the best recycle lanterns.
It rained the whole night and this was the first time we celebrated the moon cake festival without the moon! Anyway, I did believe the children and all who attended the party have fun together.
中秋节是每一个小孩等待的一个节日。为什么？因为在这一天，他们可以提灯笼，玩蜡烛，吃月饼。今年，过了一个没有月亮的中秋节。只怪老天爷不作美，当老师兴致勃勃地将一个一个的灯谜，一个一个的环保灯笼挂上时，天空竟下起了毛毛细雨。这一张场绵绵细雨可长命，一下就下了几小时，害得我们没得提灯笼游花园，连先前安排好的游戏，表演，也因为场地问题而搬进户内进行。幸好家长也通情达理，虽然有些拥挤，但也陪伴孩子们一起参与游戏，尽情欢乐。
今年我们也举办了环保灯笼制作比赛，目的是为了让家长和孩子们有时间参与亲子的活动。有些家长认为，他们不能做，所以孩子也没参与。其实，做的美不美是一回事，和孩子坐下来一家人商讨如何制作灯笼的过程才是我们要的结果。很多家长不了解，认为一定拿不到奖，所以就干脆不参与。所以孩子也就错过了一个学习的过程，也让孩子种下了一种观念，要参加就要赢，如果不能赢就不要参加。其实孩子需要去学习参与，灯泡也不是一夜可以发明的，在参与的时候，他们就学会面对失败，学会接受事实。
一些家长告诉我他们没时间做，不会做，结果？今年的环保灯笼做得好美！家长们都很有创意，害得我们评判的工作有点难度！家长你们也实在太谦虚了！
尽管细雨绵绵，我们也开开心心的渡过了一个没有月亮的中秋，家长们，你们认同吗？
